The health ministry in Malaysia has confirmed a further 38 people have contracted swine flu in the country.
Figures from the department show that the number of cases in Malaysia has now reached 196.
Xinhua reports that 33 of the cases are said to be imported, with five being transmitted within the country's borders.
Two schools have been closed until Friday while the pandemic persists, the ministry said.
Individuals who had visited the UK, the US and Australia were among the imported cases, as well as people returning from Cambodia, Indonesia, Argentina, Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand.
The news follows a report in the Colombo Page that another case of swine flu has been confirmed in Sri Lanka, taking the number of contractions to 15.
Aged 22, the sufferer had recently visited Australia and is now being treated at the country's Infectious Disease Hospital, the Medical Research Institute announced.
